| At this time, we have decided to put a halt to our breeding program here at High Point Hideaway. Currently the horse market is very bad because of an over populations of horses in the United States and we do not want to contribute to that problem. We feel that the decision to close the slaughter plants has brought us to this day and age when every road you travel has old, or crippled, or otherwise unwanted horses starving and suffering in their pastures. The rescues and sanctuary's are full, the feed costs are sky high and going higher. People have no place to take them now. A slow and prolonged death is now inevitable. There are necessary evils in this world. We believe fast passing is better than slow drawn out suffering. Don't you? Some of these unwanted horses are young and sound and have time to become another persons pride and joy. We are going to stop breeding and go back to what we do best, train and salvage horses that are capable of having a career and find someone to love them, feed them, and use them for many years to come. Please watch for us in the future to bring you quality horses. And ask your self this question before you breed another mare: Is it possible that the next..... great show horse - perfect trail horse - wonderful family companion is already down the road standing in the neighbors pasture right now waiting for you? |
